An introduction to meditation and mindfulness including the latest research, benefits of the practice and how to start a practice. Topics include an overview of mindfulness meditation, the four foundations of mindfulness and loving kindness meditation. This is a three session class.
Presenter: Judy Majcen. Judy holds a Master of Arts degree from Kent State University. She is a Licensed
Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor, Licensed Social Worker with over 30 years in the mental health profession. She has had an interest in meditation since 2000 and recently completed a 9 month course through the Institute of Meditation and Psychotherapy in Boston, MA. Judy has also attended several retreats over the years.
Dates/Times: Saturdays February 4, 11, 18 - 9:00 – 10:15 a.m.
Location: Bell St. Room 350
Tuition: $55.00/all 3 sessions; $20/each session at the door
Participants: Wear comfortable clothes. Each session will begin with a talk about the topic followed by a sitting meditation and reflection.
