Pastor Susi Kawolics

Interim Associate PastorSusi is a life-long Clevelander. She was raised in the Methodist church, but after marrying a Catholic, converted to Catholicism. She then attended Ursuline College and earned a Master’s degree in Ministry in 1999.

A few years after that, she realized she could no longer reconcile her beliefs with those of the Catholic Church. So in January, 2005, she began searching for a new church, and came to Federated. Shortly thereafter, she became a member. Supplementing her degree with classes through the UCC School of Lay ministry, in 2008 she became a licensed minister, volunteering at Federated. From September 2009 to November 2011, she served as the acting pastor at Bainbridge Community UCC.

Since December 1st, she is back at Federated church, serving as the part-time interim associate pastor. She is currently In Care with the association, with the intention of fulfilling requirements needed for ordination. She also continues to work in a Real Estate office part-time, where she has been working for 8 years.

Susi is married to Rich, who is head of the Speech Department, Speech and Debate coach, and Science teacher at Laurel School for Girls in Shaker Hts. She has 2 daughters – Kailey, 23 (in Davis, CA working with children with Autism) and Kiran, 19 (freshman at Vassar college).
