The Reverend Mark Simone

Associate Pastor of Children & Youth MinistriesMark joined the staff at Federated Church in1989 and he still finds great meaning and passion working with teenagers of the Chagrin Valley. People wonder when he’ll “grow up” and become a real pastor. After almost 30 years in youth ministry, Mark believes he pastors the church of the future while ministering to youth in the present.

Born and raised in Ravenna, Ohio, Mark enjoyed his first youth pastorate at the church of his childhood, First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ. The wonderful congregation of “First Congo” assisted Mark in receiving his undergraduate degree (dual major in psychology and sociology) from Kent State University and helped him again as he went to Ashland Theological Seminary for a Masters of Divinity in Pastoral Psychology and Counseling.

Mark is married to Kathy Simone, a talented artist and teacher in the Orange Schools. They have four kids and four grandkids, all residing in Chagrin Falls – which means lots of family dinners and a little too much babysitting!
