OrganistMarcia Snavely hails from Sharon, Pennsylvania where she started studying piano at the age of five and accompanying and performing at the age of six. While at Case Western Reserve University she completed chemistry studies as well as a graduate program in classical organ. She was a research scientist at BP Research for many years specializing in spectroscopy, where she co-authored a book and has a patent. At the same time she was Director of Music at Valley Presbyterian Church in Bainbridge.

Marcia became the organist at The Federated Church in Chagrin Falls in 1994 where she accompanies four major choirs, instrumentalists, soloists and coordinates special music programs throughout the year with groups such as the Burning River Brass and Cleveland Jazz Orchestra. She has been the music director for the Chagrin Falls Performing Arts Academy, and Actor’s Summit Professional Theater. She also does free-lance accompanying and performing engagements, including gigs for Cleveland Opera on Tour, Northern Ohio Opera League, Hungarian (Cultural Gardens, Development Panel, and Heritage Society), Landerhaven, Chagrin Falls schools, benefit dinners, and numerous community and professional theaters.

Marcia is past Dean of the Cleveland Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. She has two CD's of piano music, "The Gift of Love" (modern arrangements of favorite folk-songs and hymns) and "The Gift of Joy" (Christmas light jazz arrangements) which are available at the church office.

She is married to Gregory Polyak and together they have ten children/stepchildren and fourteen grandchildren.
