Director of The Chancel Choir and The Men of ChagrinBill Foley was born in Cleveland, grew up in Kirtland, and moved to Brecksville for his senior year.  He received a bachelor's degree from Baldwin-Wallace College in 1961, an M.A. from Western Reserve University in 1966, and a Doctorate in Music Education from Indiana University in 1973. 

Bill taught two years in Berea, and 28 in Chagrin Falls, where he was the band director for grades 5-12. Before taking the Federated Church position in 1964, he directed the choirs at Pleasant Hills Methodist Church in Middleburg Heights, and Garfield Trinity Baptist Church in Garfield Heights.  

Carol and he met at Baldwin-Wallace, and were married in 1961. They have three sons, Will, Ken and Tom.  All of the family are musicians, and for seven years they sang professionally as The Foley Family Singers.  Bill and Carol retired from the Chagrin Falls Schools in 1991, and founded the Cleveland BoyChoir that fall.  They retired from that in December of 2006.
