KidzChurch - on the FIRST Sunday of each month
KidzChurch happens on the first Sunday* of each month October through June. (* or whenever Communion is celebrated if we deviate from the normal first Sunday of the month schedule)
At the 8:45 and 10:15 worship services, we invite all the elementary children (grades K- 6) to go to the Chapel with Mark Simone and helpers for an age appropriate sermon and singing while Hamilton is preaching to the adults. Using the same lectionary verses, a program will be presented to the children focusing on one verse from the longer reading that Hamilton will be focusing upon with the congregation.
Here is how it works. Children and parents begin together in Sanctuary for the opening worship time of announcements, hymn, prayers and the like. At some point before the sermon, the children are led to the Chapel for their special message. Then, following the sermon, the children return to the Sanctuary to celebrate communion with their parents and conclude the service.
Our hope is to minister to the children as the parents also receive their spiritual vitamins. No more wiggling and squirming! And the children will have a great time in song and receive a fun, meaningful message just for them.
